Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 11, 2026

Halo is designed to be your invisible, intelligent copilot. Because Halo operates by analyzing your active screen context and microphone audio, we built our privacy architecture around a simple rule: Your data is yours. We store it securely to power your Dashboard history, and you can delete it at any time.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data, what leaves your device, and why you can trust Halo in highly sensitive environments.

1. What We See vs. What We Store

Screen Capture & Context: When Halo is active, it captures rolling frames of your screen to understand your context. These frames are temporarily piped to our enterprise AI providers to extract context. A snapshot of this context is securely stored in your personal account database so you can review it later in your Dashboard.

Audio Processing: If microphone access is enabled, Halo securely streams your meeting audio to our AI partners for real-time transcription. The resulting text transcript is saved to your account history. We do not save the actual audio recording files.

The "Whisper Engine" History: The context necessary to answer your queries, along with the AI's responses, are logged in your private session history. You have full control over this data and can delete individual sessions—or your entire history—directly from your Dashboard at any time.

2. Third-Party AI Processors (LLMs)

To provide state-of-the-art intelligence, Halo routes your screen frames and audio stream through enterprise-grade Large Language Models (LLMs) via secure APIs (such as Google Gemini and Anthropic).

Zero Data Retention by AI Providers: While we store your history in your personal Halo account, we operate under strict zero-data-retention agreements with our external AI providers. Your code, meeting transcripts, and personal queries are not used to train their models, nor are they logged or retained by Google or Anthropic.

3. Ghost Mode & Acceptable Use

Halo is engineered to operate seamlessly and without disruption, often running invisibly to screen-sharing software or system-monitoring tools ("Ghost Mode").

While we protect your privacy at the software level, you are solely responsible for how you use Halo. We provide a productivity tool; we do not condone academic dishonesty or the violation of corporate compliance policies. How you utilize Halo alongside third-party testing, proctoring, or enterprise monitoring software is your liability. Halo assumes no responsibility for disciplinary actions resulting from the use of our software.

4. Telemetry and Diagnostics

To improve Halo's performance and fix bugs, we collect anonymized diagnostic data (such as crash reports, app launch times, and generic feature usage).

This telemetry data is entirely decoupled from your identity and never includes the contents of your screen, your microphone audio, or your interactions with the AI. You may opt out of diagnostic telemetry at any time within the application settings.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (such as under the GDPR or CCPA), you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Because we do not store your usage data, there is no "chat history" or "screen data" for us to provide or delete. However, if you wish to delete your billing account and email associated with your license, you can do so by contacting us.

6. Contact Us
